I have two young children ages 4 and 6 and they are both obsessed with LEGOs! We started with Duplos and have worked our way up to the harder kits. My son is always building with his LEGOs. My daughter enjoys putting together the LEGO Friends kits and just participated in her first Junior First LEGO League competition.
When I heard about the LEGO Minifigure holiday card, I knew that my kids would be thrilled. The kids and I sat down and created our LEGO Minifigure family card in just 20 minutes.
First we went to the LEGO Minifigure Family site and added each of our four family members: me, my husband, my daughter and son. For each person, we entered in the name and were also able to skin tone, hair, facial expressions, torso (shirt) and leg (pants). The kids wanted us all to be dressed up like Santas so wardrobe selection was easy. If only it were as easy to match clothes for a real life family photo!
Next, we picked the background scene for our LEGO Minifigure family card. There were 12 LEGO backgrounds to choose from like the North Pole, the beach, outer space, a ranch, etc. The default scene was the North Pole and my kids picked that one. We live in Florida and they have never seen snow, so the idea of cold and snow really appeals to them. After we picked our scene, we were able to move our minifigures around in the scene.
After the scene was set, we were able to share our LEGO Minifigure family card with a link, download or e-mail. Here’s our resulting LEGO Minifigure family.
I will have to admit that after we were done and the kids left the room, I went back and changed our options for my own version of the card. I wanted to make the LEGO minifigures look like our family. I also wanted to use the beach scene. After a few short minutes, here is the resulting card.
Creating these LEGO Minifigure Family cards was fun! I highly recommend it for all LEGO enthusiasts!
