No Sew Headband and Tiara Holders

It’s the week before the lunar new year and this is just about  the time I go crazy with cleaning and organizing my house. On my long to-do list was to organize the mounds of headbands and tiaras on my daughter’s dresser. I found some great tutorials on no sew headband holders on the the Pretty Good Things and The Real Housewife blogs. Here’s how my 6 year old daughter and I made our no sew headband and tiara holders. Baby Girl Chipboard Album

Two months ago I did a little scrapbook shop exploring in Orlando looking for baby girl scrapbook items. One of my stops was at at Piktails. I looked around and kept coming back to a baby chipboard album. I had never done a chipboard album before but was excited to try something new! Supplies: – BABY chipboard album by Heart of Texas Studio – 5 sheets of 12×12 paper (I used paper from the Mambi Sheets Baby Girl stack) – [more]

Tips And A Peek Into A Finished Preschool Scrapbook

Kara has finished her preschool career and I wanted to finish her preschool scrapbook before her first day of kindergarten! I am happy to say that I achieved my goal. There are 55 scrapbook pages in Kara’s book! I used the We R Memory Keepers Faux Leather 12×12 3-Ring Binder Album (buttercup color) because it gives me a lot of flexibility in what I can include in the scrapbook. The layouts are in We R Memory Keepers 12×12 3-Ring Page Protectors [more]

Simple Easter Bag

Kara did an egg hunt at school today and brought home this bag of eggs. She made the bag at school so I credit her teacher Mrs. Moore with the design. The feature I like most is the reinforced area where the pipe cleaners are attached to the bag. With reinforced handles, the bag can hold more weight and that the handles won’t tear off as easily. The steps to make this bag are so simple that you can probably [more]

Leap Day Time Capsule

I read about a wonderful idea to create a leap year time capsule from Ella Publishing yesterday. The idea is to create a snapshot of today and open it 4 years later. After I initially read the article I decided to go look for a container to put my time capsule items in but then a thought occurred to me. My scrapbooks are chronological and would be the ideal place to keep my time capsule. Then I knew that I [more]

Fall Felt Flowers

My 4 year old and I combined forces to create two of these vases full of felt flowers for her preschool teachers. My original goal was to create the Fall Felt Flower Centerpiece by Rachel from Lines Across My Face but in the end the centerpiece was too aggressive a goal for Kara. Here’s what we used to make these two of these vases: 6 felt sheets (one in each color) glue gun and hot glue 24 thin wooden dowels [more]
