Personal Yearbook 2012 - 2013

My daughter Kara started kindergarten in August. Before school started I talked to Kara’s teacher about creating a personal yearbook for each of the students in Kara’s class. She liked the idea and told me to run with it! Front Page I modified the front page from last year ever so slightly by making the paper strip at the top a half inch taller. The border at the top of the page is 1.5 inches in height. The cute kindergarten [more]

{ Layout Inspiration } Back To School

Both my kids started school this week so it was a busy and emotional week. One of the reasons I love digital scrapbooking is that I can take pictures, download my pictures and create a layout in the same day! That is just what I did with my children’s back to school pictures. On Monday, Kara started kindergarten. *sniff* *sniff* For the first day of school, I create a layout for my children’s school scrapbook and also one for our [more]

Tips And A Peek Into A Finished Preschool Scrapbook

Kara has finished her preschool career and I wanted to finish her preschool scrapbook before her first day of kindergarten! I am happy to say that I achieved my goal. There are 55 scrapbook pages in Kara’s book! I used the We R Memory Keepers Faux Leather 12×12 3-Ring Binder Album (buttercup color) because it gives me a lot of flexibility in what I can include in the scrapbook. The layouts are in We R Memory Keepers 12×12 3-Ring Page Protectors [more]

Exciting Times

It has been an exciting couple of days for our family. On Thursday Kara graduated from pre-K. The night before graduation I reminisced by telling Kara that I remember when I used to lay her on her play mat and just stare at her for long periods of time hoping she would try to swat at one of the dangling toys. Those moments don’t seem that long ago so I choked up seeing my little girl in the graduation procession. [more]

December Personal Yearbook

This is my fifth month doing the personal yearbook pages with Kara’s pre-kindergarten class and I can’t believe this school year is half over! The subject of December’s pages was the Christmas program that the class performed two weeks ago. Kara wore her Christmas dress and she looked so beautiful and grown up! My friend Tammy and I helped the kids do their pages amid some chaos. The kids normally rotate through different centers with our yearbook table being one [more]

November Personal Yearbook

The subject of November’s personal yearbook page for my daughter’s pre-kindergarten class was the day the class made pumpkin pies for their Thanksgiving feast. It was such a crazy day that I didn’t even notice that Kara’s paper was upside down. Luckily she did not have a long description of her picture so I put it on the one line that usually shows the bottom  of the strip of scrapbook paper. Kara’s drawing is of me, herself and a pumpkin [more]

School Craft/Art Project Revisited

A few months ago I shared how I put my children’s school art in their school scrapbooks. In a nutshell, I take a photo of each art and put the photos in divided page protectors. I was placing the art on my futon and photographing it there but I have found a better way! I also shared with you how I display my children’s art with a wire curtain rod from IKEA. This is how our wall looks today. The [more]
