I had lunch with two of my scrapbooking friends on Saturday. My friend Debbie is working on a baby shower gift album for a friend’s daughter. She create one layout for each month of the year that includes a cover page and a first birthday page. She needs this book done soon so I volunteered to go back to the crop with her and finish a 2 page spread for November.
When I create layouts now I usually begin with selecting the photos and then selecting a digital template. I had no photos and no templates. Debbie uses 4×6 and 4×4 mats in her baby gift albums so I quickly sketched this layout on the back of a notepad. Then I tore the paper, cut the paper and added the embellishments. I have forgotten how hard it is to get everything to line up and evenly spaced on a paper layout! There is so much about the alignment and the placement of the page elements that I would like to change! Please give me back my grid and align tools in Photoshop!
I have been holding on to a lot of my paper scrapbooking tools, papers and embellishments in case I want to use them again someday. Now I want to sell or donate most of it once and for all.
