I am happy to say I completed the 7 Days in May challenges at JessicaSprague.com for the 3rd year in a row! I previously posted the first 2 layouts and here are the remaining 5.
Day 3: Off Center
We used a free template from In The Making Designs to work on white space and being off center. I don’t usually have a lot of white space in my layouts so I am glad we were provided a template to use. This layout is of Kara and her 2 best friends at their graduation lunch. The girls wore “princess grad” tiaras and it was a moment that had to be captured!
Day 4: Again and Again
This challenge was all about repetition. We had to repeat something on the page 3 times. I had to think about this one because I wanted to do a layout with recent photos. I decided not to use the same photo 3 times but the same pose three times. Kara loves to pose like this for all her pictures!
Day 5: Sorbet
We had to use a specific color scheme based on sorbet. Color scheme challenges are usually tough for me because I am very picky about my colors. If I don’t like a color I won’t use it. Fortunately I loved the color scheme. This layout is of Kara and her best friend at their dress rehearsal for their dance recital.
Day 6: Template and About Me
This challenge required me to use a template based on an ad and the layout had to be about me! I read the challenge in the evening after a long day and didn’t have any ideas for a layout. So what did I do? I played on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and read some blogs while I let my mind think about the challenge. All of that must have been really inspiring because I decided to do a snapshot of my social media.
Day 7: Art Journal
The final day of the challenges brought its toughest challenge for me – art journaling. My style is clean and simple and art journaling really isn’t. I decided to do a quick page about when I moved from Colorado to Florida.
That’s it for the 7 Days of May 2012 edition! I can hardly wait until next year.
