Day 2 of My Favorite Things is all about the Becky Higgins Big Envelope Pages! I have been following Becky Higgins since I started scrapbooking in 2003. I adored her sketch column in Creating Keepsakes and bought a few of the scrapbook kits that she designed. Years ago, Becky released school kits that had big pocket pages to put memorabilia in. There was a pocket for each year in her kit. I didn’t buy the kit but the idea of having the pocket pages for the school scrapbooks stuck with me. Fast forward to last year when Becky announced that she would be selling the Big Envelope Pages as a separate product! I was ecstatic! This was the exact thing that I needed for my children’s school scrapbooks!
This is one 12 inch x 12 inch big envelope page. There is a 4×6 pocket in the front and an insert card that you can write on to label the envelope.
When I used it in Kara’s school scrapbook, I just placed a 12×12 sheet of card stock in the back of the envelope so it wouldn’t be transparent, removed the insert so all the contents would show through and added a few memorabilia items from her school year.
This year Kara’s teacher created a DVD for the kids with photos from throughout the school year and I found out that the front pocket is just the right dimensions to hold a normal sized DVD case securely!
Another use I found for the big envelope pages was as a time capsule. I created this Leap Day time capsule on February 29th and plan to open it in 4 years on the next Leap Day. My family albums are chronological so I will keep my time capsule right where Leap Day 2012 should be for us and future generations! You can read more about my Leap Day time capsule in this post.

I loved your time capsule project. In fact, the tweet about it from Becky Higgins is how I found you. I also bought some of the envelope pages, which I have yet to use. Lately I’ve been more of a collector and less of a creator than I’d like.
Happy Anniversary.
Thank you Sandy! I always wonder how people find me and now I know how you found me. I think we all go through collecting phases. If only you could see my paper scrapbook stash you would understand. Don’t get down on yourself. Just think about something you want to create and start from there.
Worked like a charm this time :)!
Great! Thanks for letting me know. 🙂
Kelly I hit the button to follow you on Pinterest, but now can’t find you…:/
Again, Congrats on your wonderful anniversary! (These envelopes are sooo cool!)
Sorry Mandy! I think I fixed the link. Please try again.
