2013 is my fifth consecutive year of Project 365. At the beginning of each year I always try out different things to see what I think will work for me that year. Going into this year I had decided to take all my photos of the day with my smartphone camera and use Instagram to help with my Project 365 work flow. After the first week of the year I struggled a bit with balancing the size of my photos with the amount of journaling I wanted to have on the layouts. My first attempt at a Project 365 format for the year was this layout.
I only used six photos because I wanted large photos and room for a lot of journaling. I kept taking my photos of the day but let my brain think about the layouts in the background in the background. After a while I realized what I didn’t like about my first layout. I like Instagram filters on Instagram but I like true colors on my scrapbook layouts. I went through and replaced the Instagram filtered photos with their unfiltered versions. I also added a seventh photo to make each layout a full week. This caused me to reduce my journaling. That is okay because I tend to get a little wordy. This is what I finally came up with for the first week of 2013.
My Project 365 layouts get printed as a photo book at the end of the year so for the second week, I created a symmetrical layout that I will use for all my even weeks.
Now that I have my layout sorted out I was able to get caught up on my Project 365 through this week! How are you doing your Project 365 this year?
