This is my fifth consecutive year of the photo a day Project 365 and I must confess… there are days when I haven’t taken a picture! The perfectionist in me is gasping for air but the realist in me says that it is okay. This is real life and there are going to be days when I am too busy or just forget to take a picture.
This happened to me last week. On Saturday (7/13), we got up at 5 am in Los Angeles, got on a plane and landed in Orlando at 6 pm. After we took the shuttle to our car and drove home it was after 8 pm. I was exhausted and taking a picture was the furthest thing from my mind. We had just been on vacation for 10 day so I decided to just use a photo from one of those days on our travel day. Below is the resulting layout and I’m glad that New Kids on the Block made it into my Project 365!
In 10 years when I look back through my Project 365 albums, it won’t matter that I actually saw the concert on 7/5 instead of 7/13.
This is a list of other placeholders I have used instead of a photo for Project 365:
- News – If there is a big new story I have used screenshots from CNN.com for Project 365. I remember doing this for the most recent presidential election and the day the Chilean miners were rescued.
- Weather – When weather has been a big factor in my day I have used both weather radar and a tropical storm track for Project 365.
- Books/TV Shows – Did you finish a good book or watch a new TV show? I search for online images and use those in my Project 365. I did just that in the layout above for 7/15.
- Social Media – I have used screenshots from Facebook and Twitter in my Project 365. I remember once my daughter randomly started typing on the keyboard and sent a tweet. That screenshot was my first social media post in Project 365. My kids also say funny things that I post to Facebook. If I don’t have a photo related to the quote, I will take a screenshot of my Facebook status for Project 365.
What do you do when you miss taking a photo for Project 365?
