As a scrapbooker, I try to journal on every page. I think writing down and later reading the written details helps to solidify the memory in my head. Sometimes it is hard to be original and not just say that everything was “fun” or that “we had a good time.”

I’ve been scrapbooking in one form or another for over 10 years so scrapbooking is never far from my thoughts. Last week, I heard the song Ballerina Girl by Lionel Richie as I was driving along by myself and an image my daughter’s dance recital jumped into my head. I found myself singing along to the lyrics of the song and though it expressed perfectly how I feel about my amazing daughter.

This  layout is very simple but I just adore how it turned out. I smile and feel happy just looking at it.

Kara actually performed to the Imperial March from the Empire Strikes Back movie, but years from now when my memory drifts back to this recital, the only song I will hear in my head is Ballerina Girl.
