My family and I fled Vietnam when I was a baby and immigrated to the United States. I only spoke Vietnamese until I started first grade. It was a struggle to learn English as well as reading and writing. I was placed in the lower reading groups until fourth grade when I finally overcame the language barrier and began to excel in school. That is also when my love of reading began. My family was not wealthy so there were no fancy vacations or after school activities. Reading was my only exposure to new places and experiences. My love for reading grew over time and as an adult I am completed addicted. I read at every opportunity. So far this year I’ve read 47 books and am on pace to read 80 by the end of the year. You can imagine that reading so many books can get expensive.
I am thrilled to have discovered Thriftbooks.com to help me save money on books. The site offers a selection of over 7 million books at great prices. You can find out-of-print and second-hand treasures with just a quick search of the website. I recently ordered 5 books off my to-read list for $18.37.
Buying the books new would have cost $71.95. I saved 75% on the cost of these 5 books!
The savings don’t end there. Did you notice that my shipping was FREE? Every Thriftbooks.com order over $10 ships for FREE! My books arrived via DHL/USPS in several shipments from different locations in the United States.
Thriftbooks.com also offers a loyalty rewards program. For every $50 you spend, you receive $5 coupon to spend on more books! These books are headed to the beach with me this summer.
I can’t wait to finish these books and order more. Try Thriftbooks.com to feed your reading addiction without breaking the bank.
I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
I loved hearing about your background…my story is really different but I’ve always had an obsession with books, starting as a really young child. I can’t believe that free shipping is after $10! Thanks so much for sharing this Kelly!
Love this! We are all readers here and love to grow our family library. Great post!

I am an avid reader too. There is just something about having a real book. I am so impressed with the amount of books you have read this summer. I wish I had the time. I need to make more time to read. Definitely checking out this site. The prices are insanely cheap and let’s face it I am frugal! Thanks for sharing.
You are welcome Michelle. I love the great prices and the free shipping. I wish I had more time to read too but there are crafts to be made, kids to be fed… ๐
Wow, love this! We always need more books in our house for both me and the kids! Thanks for sharing this little gem with us!

Can’t wait to head over to the site and order books for my son! it’s brilliant, as at this age for him anyways, he only reads a book one time and moves on!
My daughter is getting into series reading as she enters middle school so double whammy! Thanks so much! Enjoy your beach books! ๐
Thank you Melissa. I’m happy that your kids love to read. My daughter loves to read series after series. She read the entire Box Car Children series last year and it is over 100 books! I loved reading series when I was younger and still do! ๐
Love this idea! I also love used books, and then idea that someone else has been enjoying them before you read them. There is something special about that!
I never thought about a used book that way Emily! I love your unique perspective.
I’m definitely going to check this out. All three of my kids are avid readers, and it can get expensive ๐
It’s wonderful that all 3 of your kids are avid readers Cari! We all love to read at my house and enjoy reading together too.
What a great find! Thanks so much for sharing. That’s awesome that they have such a low minimum required for free shipping too….I’m always on the hunt for fun new books for my son!
I think the $10 minimum for free shipping is great too Christine. I don’t like to pay for shipping so it is ideal for me. This would be a great way to stock your son’s library.
What a great source for books! I love to read too and this will save me some $$
I’m happy this will save you money Jeanie. I wish I knew about Thriftbooks.com earlier. I would have more money to spend on crafting supplies. LOL.
Great resource. I obtain books through a lot of resources including the library, Goodwill Stores, box stores and friends.
Hi Jeannie. I borrow from the library a ton but they don’t have a lot of the books I want to read. Thanks for reading.
Wow, what a great find. This will save me money for my own reading needs! I wonder if kid books are on here too?
